We are Carmel. Zealous for God, reflective in prayer, and guided by the Carmelite Friars of St. Elias Province. We pray, worship, and commune in ancient and distinct ways at our beautiful "Cathedral of South Troy".
Welcome, from Fr. Joseph.
Welcome, from Fr. Joseph.
Dear brothers and sisters,
As humans we always want something new in our life. For example, when you were a child you were always happy with new toys, clothes, shoes, bed, hats even with new friends in the first school…When you became adults, you enjoyed the married life with a new family, new job, house, car. You even still enjoy new clothes, shoes, hats, phone, computer… The new is the fundamental demand and need of our lives. You want to and enjoy everything new. Have you ever thought about a “new life?” a happy and joyful life? Yes?
Our whole universal church celebrates the living event of all times. The passion and death of Jesus Christ. The Mass is the celebration of the mysterious love of the Lord for humans. The Lord reveals himself to us in his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus shows us the love of the Father by accepting whatever price that he needs to go through to save the whole human race. After Jesus came back from death, to life again, he has power over death. He has a new life. He promises that whoever believes in him, he will give the same new life that he has. This life will last forever.
The celebration of the Mass we celebrate everyday will affect our future life. So, I invite you to arrange your time to come together to adore, to worship, and to show gratitude and love to our Lord at each and every Mass, so that we might receive his graces and blessings for our earthly journey of following him to the end. May our Almighty and Merciful God have mercy on us and help us know how to live as worthy sons and daughters to show His love to the world. Amen.
